video: Vintage Ken Doll Duds

Sunday, April 17, 2016

Hey there! Here's a video I just recently uploaded about some vintage Ken doll tops that I scored for Beatrix via eBay.

On a technical note, some reason the video is really cool-tinted and it's bothering me so much. It looks normal on my desktop (where I do all my video editing), but that monitor has a warmer tint, and my laptop monitor is more cool-tinted. So it looks like it has this major gray cast to me now that I see it on my laptop. However, my last video didn't have that issue, so I don't know why this one does. Furthermore, I often notice color differences between the video file and how it looks on YouTube, so this extra and random degree of color variation is super annoying!!!

Since everyone has different monitors/phones with varying settings, I'm sure it looks different to everyone. Yikes.

As of late, I've been:

  • studying frequently
  • exploring my new Nintendo 3DS XL (I've never had a handheld gaming system before, and I'm from the Gameboy/Game Gear generation and literally everyone I knew had one, so it's pretty exciting for me; my birthday's coming up and I'm going to ask for DS games!)
  • dealing with a super stressful health insurance situation
  • wasting time on the Miitomo app

I'm unspeakably exhausted from this health insurance thing. I feel like I am neither eating nor sleeping enough, like I just can't recharge fully. If I don't resurface again till May, don't be terribly surprised!

  1. Health insurance woes are the worst. I hope you can get them all settled and you are feeling better soon. I really enjoyed this video with Beatrix and I'm tempted to look for some vintage Ken clothes too. I have some vintage skipper, but I also have some girls who would love to sport some menswear.
I'm not sure if our gaming tastes are similar, but I really recommend the harvest moon series, return to PopoloCrois, animal crossing (not the designer one), any Pokemon, and I enjoyed bravely default ^^. I like turn based RPGs and sim type games.

    1. Thank you so much for the recs!! These sound exactly like the kind of games I like. RPGs can be hit or miss for me (my favorite game ever is Chrono Trigger but I haven't really ever gotten into Final Fantasy, etc) but I love sim-type stuff :)

  2. Also I think you would actually really enjoy the games Style Savvy and Pop Cutie! You play as a fashion store owner, and help style customers ^^

  3. I hope you get the insurance stuff sorted out soon (or that it's already sorted out).
Also DS/3DS are the only game consoles I've ever had in my life! Haha. I just like playing Animal Crossing and Professor Layton games.

PS. that doll is sooo cute!!! I've been thinking about getting another doll for my bday in May (I only have Zinochka right now) but I don't know which one... so hard when you want to get so many of them and also some that I want are rare or really expensive. I don't know how to find them :((( I totally want a peppermint haired one. I will probably get a blonde with a simple light coloured face this time since I feel like Zinochka is almost too colourful for me haha. I really have a thing for all the ginger blythes though...

    1. Thank you!! It's the end of the month and I'm hoping it's mostly all over with.

We're both May babies! Yay! Luckily blonde Blythes come out all the time and most of them are so pretty. I already have University of Love but Minty Magic makes me want her :( The bright-haired girls can be tricky to dress sometimes.
