Ah, and before she knew it, it was Halloween, and October officially gone...
It's been a rainy Halloween today! Chilly but not freezing cold. The highlight of the day's been pics of my two-year-old nephew and also my brand-new nephew in their costumes. Two-year-old went trick-or-treating for the first time! Crushed it!! But mostly October has been too warm, and I feel it really drained out from under me
Before I forget:
Winny's beret: Dear Darling
Winny's sweater: a gift from Anne
Winny's skirt: Seamstress Kaycee (I'm not sure if she's still selling clothes)
Winny's tights: I made 'em!
Winny's boots: Takara Eye Love Shoes White set
Most of what I've been doing is band-related, so I truly haven't had anything to share here. There are almost no pictures on my phone from this month! I don't love it when life gets that way for me. My time just disappears into a vortex, and without phone pics, I struggle to remember how I've been spending time. What have I even been doing with my waking hours. I'll try to remember.
Things I've been enjoying:
🧡 VisionQuest -- admittedly I am a Marvel girlie anyway, even in this day and age. But VQ is giving me life! James Spader as Ultron is such a gift, as a certain amount of Age of Ultron revisionism is recently acknowledging. And as an Agent Carter lover from way back when, seeing more James D'Arcy as any form of Jarvis is also a big treat. I watch almost no television these days so I'm enjoying having a show. (Rewatching Agatha All Along at this time of the year in preparation for VQ has also treated me just right.)
🧡 @PricklyAlpaca has become the YouTuber whose videos I most look forward to! I have rewatched the episodes where she does increasing amounts of fabric stash-busting that devolves into patchwork upon patchwork many times. @BaylieFortier is a recent discovery whompst I'm also enjoying. @babbity_kate also recently dropped her Nellie O'Malley video, as part of her big American Girl deep dive series.
🧡 Dressmaker. Mostly I have watched my friend L playing it, and enjoyed it very intensely. I love some of her creations and watching her creativity and decision-making process. I have played some, as well, but I'm not too far in. However, I have played enough to have Dressmaker dreams on the reg right now.
Here are some of mine, and as you can see, I have yet to do anything tricked out or extravagant or complex. I see a lot of people's Dressmaker dresses on social media right now, and I think the feeling that I'll never be able to/have the patience to do anything akin to the masterpieces I see shared has, uh... dimmed my makerly passions a bit. Like, I definitely don't think these are social media-worthy creations of mine. I'm just sharing because I did spend time in this game this month. And enjoyed many hours of great comfort and delight watching L play and weighing in on design decisions when asked!!
